Lillian Cruz has over 30 years of professional experience in executive nonprofit management. She is the founder of a Connecticut agency, Humanidad Inc., that serves Latino persons with complex developmental disabilities. Ms. Cruz has worked in the Philanthropic sector first as a program officer for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and later at the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven as director of community impact. While at the Community Foundation she developed and managed its grant evaluation and dashboard reporting programs, investments in urban neighborhoods, and other special initiatives.
Currently, Lillian is primarily working as director of programs, at Family Life Education, a CT agency engaged in children and youth services, education, food/nutrition and wellness activities.
Lillian also provides consulting services to nonprofits on grant writing, strategic planning, board governance and development. She has produced institutional logic models, strategic, and fund plans and is adept at public presentations and trainings.
Lillian has served on multiple local and national boards including The National Council of La Raza, CT Funders’ Collaborative for Hispanics in Philanthropy, CT Association of Nonprofits, and many others. She is currently serving on the Susan G. Komen Foundation-CT as a director and formerly as its secretary and grants chair, in which she had oversight of over one million dollars in grants annually.
Lillian attended Wesleyan University and The University of Hartford where she earned her BA and MBA respectively.
