Karen Gaskins Jones is the Founder and President of JLH Associates ("Aligning Ideas, Innovation & Excellence") and her consulting practice offers an array of training design, facilitation, research and writing services, and organization development consultation. Karen's 20 plus years of experience as a trainer/consultant includes work in international settings and within diverse communities across the U.S, and in a variety of government agencies, and organizations in the private and non-profit sectors. Karen designs and delivers experiential training workshops, retreats and conferences, which result in individuals and organizations achieving maximum operational potential. She is a skilled trainer in supervision and management skills, leadership development, leadership transitions, communications, equal employment opportunity, issues for managing a diverse workforce and building inclusive organizations, teambuilding, the training of trainers, and approaches to promote heightened effectiveness of individuals, teams/groups and organizations.Karen is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, the Strength Deployment Inventory, and is a practitioner and student of Appreciative Inquiry and NLP. Ms. Gaskins Jones is the author of Leadership Development & Emergency Succession Planning: an Organizational Planning Workbook.With Denice Rothman Hinden she co-authored an article for the Points of Light Foundation Newsletter (Spring 2006), “A New Mindset for Managing Leader Development.” and her article “Preparing an Organization for Sustainable Leadership” was recently published in the Non-Profit Quarterly (Spring 2007). Ms. Gaskins Jones is a founding member and former chair/Board of Directors of the Diversity Leadership Forum, a national association of multidisciplinary practitioners devoted to the development of the field diversity and multiculturalism.Also, she is currently the Vice President (and former President) of the Board of Directors for the Bureau of rehabilitation, Inc., a local nonprofit that provides community-based transition services for adults after incarceration and for pre-adjudicated adolescence in the criminal justice system.Karen holds a Masters in Education from Texas Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Spelman College.
