Dr. Cindy Phillips is a management consultant and coach with expertise in leadership development, team building, action learning, and change management.With nearly 20 years of management experience in technology, transportation, and consulting roles, Cindy specializes in developing and implementing change management strategies, as well as helping leaders to reach their full potential.
Since establishing Leadership 4 Change, Cindy has continued her leadership and team development work with front-line and mid-level leaders, in a diverse base of public and private sector clients, and union and non-union environments.She delivers a very practical, tool-based solution, incorporating a mix of her own personal experience, insight, and the latest information available to challenge people’s thinking and to engage them in learning. Previously, Cindy was on the senior leadership team at Acumen Solutions, a start-up management consulting firm specializing in system integration solutions for the telecom industry.In addition to business development and client relationship management, Cindy also designed the company’s career development and training programs, helped successfully integrate an acquisition, re-built an employee orientation program, and developed numerous employee retention initiatives.Those efforts contributed to an unprecedented 94 percent employee retention rate.Prior to Acumen, Cindy held management positions with Verizon Communications, across various functional units, and was known as a results-oriented change agent.She delivered numerous employee development programs, and facilitated company-wide culture changing initiatives associated with organizational restructuring, process improvement, quality management, diversity, and merger integration. Cindy completed a Ph.D. & M.A. in Human & Organizational Development at the Fielding Graduate Institute, with her research focusing on how entrepreneurial leaders manage and overcome adversity.She has a B.S. in Finance, an M.B.A., and attended a Fellows Program in Change Management at Johns Hopkins University, Leadership Development Programs at Wharton, and the Brookings Institute.Cindy recently obtained her professional coaching certification from the Coaches Training Institute.She is experienced with various personality Self-Assessment instruments (e.g., Myers Briggs, FIRO-B, DISC), and has extensive experience with 360º feedback instruments (usually leadership or communication based).
